I am lucky enough to live in beautiful rural Norfolk. I am surrounded by glorious countryside and this inspires many of my paintings. In early 2020 I decided to try adding embroidery to one of my paintings and I loved the texture and detail it added to the piece. I believe this process makes my paintings not only visual but also tactile. My 2 year old daughter loves seeing what new painting I have created and each time I show her one she not only looks at it but also runs her hand over it to feel where the embroidery is. To me, art should bring with it an experience and I hope that with this technique I am bringing that experience to people.
All of my paintings are given a little extra sparkle to make them ‘pop’!
